Pop culture heritage is shaping the future

Esthetics from the end of the 20th century are giving us images for a wistfully, sweet and reassuring future that moves at a slower pace and is more respectful of the environment. Our world is turning into a huge playroom for children from the past. Computers, telephones and other technologies from the era that didn’t require organizing cables are being upcycled into accessories and decor for homes of the future. The rounded shapes and bright colors of our childhood toys along with pop culture references are companions to the adults we’ve become.

With video games, sitcoms, cartoons, hip-hop, kitschy advertising campaigns, a fascination for the USA and Japan, nine-to-five style and uninhibited sexualization, it’s an ode to a televised era and watching sports as a family. Vintage elements from the 1980s to the 2000s – harbingers of our consumerist society – are infinite sources of inspiration. Discover our Unsacred theme for spring-summer 2026 which delves into esthetic codes from the past with the goal of changing the future.

Unsacred - SS26

“Demonstrating their commitment not through violence but through caustic mockery, these new activists take action to disrupt an overly standardized society, hack into everyday life and take power. Irreverent and resourceful, they salvage, recycle, and repurpose, making do with what they find. These new makers transform today’s waste into positive creations, shifting the notion of value that traditionally defines a product. !ey use pop references and anime or fanzine codes to convey their biting irony. Between cheap and chic, sporty and tailoring, acid colors and asphalt greys, they wield opposites that clash and collide in a highly expressive way”.
