Mischief
The need to re-establish traditions, codes and references in our individualistic culture is accompanied by a mischievous desire to break free from them. Restoring a model… to transgress it wickedly: a playful spirit gives women the imagination to live their femininity and fragility as they see fit. To ease post MeToo tensions without turning back the clock, women assert their right to stage their own form of charm and their fantasies. Romantic clichés are scrambled with a touch of mischief, bourgeois references are twisted with insolence, and images invoke the charm of the past to create the illusion of a bygone era. Allusive, suggestive and deceptively innocent, the aesthetic flirts with dreamy coquetry, outright gourmandize and trashy-cute sensuality.
