🗓 1 FEBRUARY 2023: RUINART TEAMS UP WITH CHEF ARNAUD DONCKELE

A three-year-long collaboration between Ruinart champagne and French chef Arnaud Donckele has recently been announced. Donckele directs two renowned restaurants which both boast three Michelin stars: La Vague d’Or (in the Cheval Blanc Hotel in Saint-Tropez) and Plénitude (the Cheval Blanc in Paris). Now those restaurants will offer a signature menu featuring Dom Ruinart cuvées. The partnership gives the champagne brand the opportunity to showcase its products in a more experiential, modern way.

🗓 3 FEBRUARY 2023: FAREWELL TO PACO RABANNE

Early February marked the death of the 88-year-old Spanish couturier in his Brittany house. With his futuristic, avant-garde vision, Paco Rabanne left a permanent mark on 1960’s fashion, and his work continues to fascinate and inspire contemporary fashion. His innovative use of materials such as metal, Plexiglas, and paper won him the title “the metallurgist of fashion” from Gabrielle Chanel. Today, his iconic 1969 bag, made with metal chainmail, is once again on trend, furthering his artistic legacy.

🗓 6 FEBRUARY 2023: A NEW BRAND IDENTITY FOR BURBERRY

Burberry has rolled out its first marketing campaign under its new Creative Director, Daniel Lee. Since his appointment last October, Lee’s new creative vision for the house has been eagerly awaited. His first Burberry campaign was released 6 February after the British house had deleted all the content from its Instagram account. The campaign appears to be evidence of the label’s desire to return to its British roots and to use models that exemplify Great Britain, such as Lennon Gallagher, ShyGirl, and Raheem Sterling. Burberry is also reconnecting with its artistic authenticity, with a new logo with more decorative letters (a break from the former sans-serif typeface) and the reinstatement of the equestrian Prorsum logo. Lee’s first show for Burberry was on 20 February during London Fashion Week. Again, the brand seemed to want to go back to its British roots with a British-punk esthetic on the catwalk and an update on the Burberry check.

🗓 10 FEBRUARY 2023: A YACHT DESIGNED BY GIORGIO ARMANI

Giorgio Armani has broadened his field of expertise by designing the overall look for a yacht – from interior design to the hull. The boat, named Admiral 72 by Giorgio Armani, will be available for purchase from Italian Sea Group in 2024. With its sleek lines, fine materials, and exquisite workmanship, the yacht reflects the minimalist, elegant esthetics of the Italian designer’s fashion house. The project illustrates Armani’s desire to diversify and expand his creative vision beyond the world of fashion.

🗓 14 FEBRUARY 2023: JIMMY CHOO X SAILOR MOON, THE POWER OF SHOES

The Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon manga was a major source of inspiration for the creation of a collection of magical shoes designed by Jimmy Choo, and the collaboration marks the series’s 30th anniversary. In the manga, shoes bestow magical powers to the protagonists; and in real life, as well, they make women more confident and stronger. In addition to shoes, the collaboration sparked a reinterpretation of the house’s Varenne Quad bag printed with illustrations from the manga. The collection, which stands out with its pop colors, is proof of how ties between the fashion and entertainment worlds are evolving.

“This collaboration underscores our shared values and not just for female empowerment but for fashion’s ability to inspire inclusivity and individuality through personality and self-belief.” Sandra Choi, Creative Director, Jimmy Choo

🗓 20 FEBRUARY 2023: MONCLER X MERCEDES-BENZ’S G-WAGON FOR SNOW

During Moncler’s The Art of Genius collaborative event, the British brand officially introduced a surprising collaboration with Mercedes-Benz designer Gorden Wagener: a Mercedes G-class, off-road car for snow. The all-terrain vehicle features playful details such as padded wheels and a zipper on the roof, both nods to a Moncler puffer jacket. The initiative is an example of how interconnected creativity between seemingly different industries can provide mutual inspiration for innovative projects.

🗓 22 FEBRUARY 2023: GUCCI’S CIRCULAR HUB

Gucci has deepened its environmental commitment and CSR strategy with the creation of the first-ever luxury circular hub. The goal of the new Tuscany-based platform, called Circular Hub, is to reorganize Gucci’s entire economic system to prioritize a sustainable circular transformation. With the new hub, Gucci will manage all the production processes, from choosing raw materials to optimizing manufacturing to reusing unsold items. Another goal of the initiative is to guarantee a more virtuous life cycle for luxury products by making them more sustainable and easier to recycle.
