The 2000s are making a strong comeback in both fashion and design, bringing with them a fascination for industrial materials—especially chrome. An Instagrammable and TikTok-friendly material, chrome captures light, creates reflections, and gives off an almost digital effect that fits just as well in minimalist interiors as in the maximalist aesthetics beloved by Gen Z. Inspired by iconic pieces such as Marcel Breuer’s Wassily chairs, Memphis design, and Bauhaus influences, younger generations are looking to make these trends their own by showcasing chrome and exposed metal structures.
