🗓 27 APRIL 2023: TOM FORD, ENDINGS AND BEGINNINGS

Tom Ford is leaving his namesake brand, letting Peter Hawkings step into the role of Creative Director.

On 27 April Ford presented his last women’s collection and announced his departure from his eponymous brand. The collection was based on re-issued versions from his archives as well as his favorite pieces from 17 years of creativity. The news follows the November 2022 purchase of the house by the Estée Lauder Group.

But the label wasn’t long without a leader, since the day after the show Peter Hawkings was named as the new Creative Director. Hawkings had been Ford’s right hand since their Gucci days and served as Tom Ford Menswear Vice President since the brand’s beginning. Ford expressed complete confidence in his successor’s ability to fulfill his role, “that of creating fashion products of the highest level of design and quality.”
